About the Course

This presentation will explore the legal, ethical and practical issues surrounding the Conservator's right to remain at their personal residence. We will also discuss the impact of COVID-19 on this issue and challenges faced by Court personnel and judges.

Hon. Glen Reiser, Judge (Ret.), JAMS

Hon. Glen M. Reiser (Ret.) has vast experience adjudicating and resolving thousands of complex commercial, real property/environmental, trust and family law disputes as a respected trial judge and litigator. Judge Reiser spent more than 20 years on the Ventura County Superior Court, serving as both supervising probate judge and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) judge for more than a decade. Prior to his appointment to the bench, he litigated hundreds of civil cases to successful conclusion in trial and appellate courts throughout California.

Yevgeny L. Belous, Esq.

Yevgeny L. Belous is a partner at Rodnunsky & Associates, a Trusts and Estates Firm located in Woodland Hills, California. For more than 10 years, Mr. Belous has been practicing exclusively in the areas of trusts and estates, conservatorships, guardianships, estate planning and probate litigation. A large portion of Mr. Belous’ practice is devoted to representing professional fiduciaries in court proceedings and private trusts. This includes representing professional fiduciaries under investigation by the Professional Fiduciaries Bureau.

Hon. Judge Glen M. Reiser (Ret.)

Hon. Glen M. Reiser (Ret.) has vast experience adjudicating and resolving thousands of complex commercial, real property/environmental, trust and family law disputes as a respected trial judge and litigator. Judge Reiser regularly teaches California judges trust, probate, and conservatorships through the Judicial Council of California’s Center for Judicial Education and Research (CJER).

Judge Reiser is known for using his thoroughness, intellect, attention to detail and breadth of knowledge to develop creative solutions to disputes of all types.

Yevgeny Belous, Esq.

Yevgeny (Eugene) L. Belous was born in 1983 in Kiev, Ukraine. He is fluent in Russian. He graduated in 20015 from the University of California, Santa Cruz, majoring in Economics and Business Management. Mr. Belous completed his J.D. from Thomas Cooley Law School in 2009 and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2009. In Law school, he was a senior intern at the Sixty Plus Elder Law Clinic, which exposed him to a wide variety of legal issues facing the elderly. Since becoming an attorney, he has continued upon this path practicing exclusively in the areas of trusts and estates, conservatorships, guardianships, and probate litigation.
