About the Course

For the elderly, injuries may appear to be simply an outcome of age-related health failure. However, clients pay for safety and supervision at assisted living and other long-term care facilities. Injuries are often a result of the failure of the facility to provide the care your client is paying for. The presenters will explain how insufficient staffing to supervise and meet residents’ needs, inadequate training of staff/unqualified staff, and adverse budgetary considerations can lead to neglect of residents. Neglect can manifest as bedsores, falls, elopement, and sexual assault, among other injuries.
